Clare’s Back

Clare likes big birds…. a lot. Who knew? She isn’t particularly interested in the seagulls along the beach at her foster home, but apparently she spent much of the 48 hours she was adopted beside the cage of a 17 year old big bird who is definitely not a fan of Clare.

Clare didn’t do anything. She just got excited and whined when the bird would fluff his wings or he would talk, so Clare’s furever family was more like a 48 hour family….actually, less than 24 hour family as they had decided at the first check in that Clare was not going to work out.

Every once in a while we have a dog that “doesn’t work out.” Last year it was 8 year old Holly who was adopted by a VET and after several months came back.

Adopters must think a golden who is 6 – 10 years old is one step away from the Rainbow Bridge; therefore will lay around the house like a dog rug. In most cases that couldn’t be farther from the truth. In my own family, our almost 10 year old golden is a tennis ball freak who I think would play until she collasped if we let her. My younger dogs are couch potatoes.

Anyway, Clare is back with her foster mom Stephanie and available for adoption. She is good with other dogs and LOVES kids. She hasn’t been exposed to cats and apparently likes birds WAY TOO MUCH. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in adopting Clare, call 855.477.3728.
