Golden Reading Dogs
Today 4 of our goldens visited St. Michael’s School to have children read to our dogs. This was our third visit to St. Michael’s and so far we have had 44 children read to us. Today was special because for the first time two children who would not read out loud during class in front of their peers, read aloud to the dogs. Reading aloud helps improve reading ability so yea to the gold dogs for helping new readers. If you are interested in helping with the reading program please let me know. My favorite thing today was driving into the school and seeing the sign outside the school saying, Welcome Goldens.![Elsa+book[1]](http://goldenretrieverrescueofsouthernmaryland.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Elsa+book1-300x255.jpg)

I forgot to take a photo.
I was still in amazement at how well Harry did listening to the kids today. Yes, you read that correctly, HARRY laid quietly as kids used his back for a “desk” to hold the books they read.
I loved reading about this. Thanks for sharing.
I think the dogs enjoyed it just as much. What newspaper reporter was there taking pictures? Maybe we will make the newspaper.
I think the kids did an awesome job of reading too!
County Times Reporter was there.
