Capitol Hill Tanner
Tanner was adopted today by a wonderful, caring, down to earth couple who live near the Capitol; Megan, Jim and Alfie. You can see the Capitol from their bedroom – so cool. Megan is the Executive Assistant and Scheduler for Senator John Cornyn of Texas. Jim is a Political Director.
Megan’s father gave her a golden retriever puppy when she was 20 years old, Marcy recently passed away at the grand ole age of 13. Megan and Jim saw Tanner on our web site and fell in love with his cute little (yellow lab) face. Tanner and Alfie got along great and they even played together. Alfie might be a little jealous but we think they will become great friends.
Tanner is one lucky dog! Tanner and Alfie will get walked 4-5 times a day in one of the many nearby dog parks. Megan is hoping Tanner will accompany her as she runs around Lincoln Park. Later this year they are heading to New York and Tanner along with Alfie will be staying in a Hilton Hotel, wow how grand is that! Megan said when her work is slow she can take the dogs with her for the day to her office (Watch out Megan, Tanner might sweet bark himself into taking over your job!) Ha!
Megan and Jim told us that Capitol Hill has become dog friendly. There are several outside restaurants and bars that allow dogs. As we were leaving Megan and Jim were meeting some friends for lunch and taking the dogs along. Megan had sent her friends a picture of Tanner and wanted them to meet him, how awesome!
Congratulations to Tanner for finding his “furever” home!
Good luck Megan, Jim, Alfie and Tanner.

And THANK YOU for fostering him until he could find his furever family.
Tanner is doing really well. He LOVES to run with me in the mornings when it’s not to hot. We’ve discovered that he is a Golden Lab/Shar Pei mix that is where his skin condition came from. He’s the BEST dog; we are blessed to have found him. Thank you so much for driving all the way to DC that Sunday morning in April.
