Golden Spokes Day 4
Three words for today: monotonous, muddy, and muggy. Not our favorite section of the C&O, as there isn’t a whole lot to see-After you’ve seen a couple of aqueducts and locks, it’s enough and there are no towns on or near the trail. We should be glad that it isn’t raining or we’d have much more than mud to complain about! But we made it in to Hancock by 3:30 PM. We had made reservations at what turned out to be a horrible motel. We practically ran screaming to the hotel where we stayed last time we biked the C&O. We’re resting up getting ready for Day 5.

Ariel, Miss April 2013, Update
Ariel is just a wonderful dog. She seems to really have settled in. She and Laydee are constantly wrestling together and she is quite the cuddle-bug.

Sgt Taylor Update From his Furever Mom
Good Morning,
Oh where do I start with this little guy…. adorable, smart, cuddly, precious the list could go on and on! He is quite the cutie pie. We are
calling him sgt/sarge/buddy. He has done great the first 24 hours with us. I took him to the vet yesterday. He weighs 17 lbs. He does have
fleas and round worms that we are treating him for but other than that he is just perfect. He still does have a bit of kennel cough too. He is eating well. He slept in his
crate last night without one whimper. Granted I gave his a kong filled with pb and cheerios. (organic of course) Doing great with the potty,
no accidents so far. He gets along great with Ellie, our 5 yr old german shepherd and of course he adores Madison and Austin. The only problem
is he won’t cooperate with picture taking SOOO I’m still working on getting you some great pics to put up on the website. I have
a few by himself but I wanted to try and get some with the kids. Hopefully I will have some for you by this evening. Please thank his foster family in SC for
taking such great care of him and starting the training with him. He is already sitting and giving paw for treats. He is a VERY smart dog.
Thanks so much for the new addition to our family. A well needed distraction for us. We just love him!!

Bark at the Ball Park Saturday evening at 6:30
http://somdbluecrabs.com/fundraising_partners.cfm for tickets. Stop by the rescue’s info table on the concourse. Half the ticket price comes to rescue. I have some $10 tickets, but it’s too late to mail so we’d have to meet at the stadium for those.
