Our Little Holly

Look at her little face. Isn’t she adorable?

It’s hard to believe that when she was dropped off at our house in April we had to chase her around the yard for 20 minutes to get her into the house!

She was terrified of people. As a stray, who knows what she experienced.

She refused to walk on a leash for 6 weeks…..just laid flat as a pancake. Then one day she decided she wanted to go on the evening walk with everyone else and walked PERFECTLY in heel position. Now she’s a bit of a sniffer as apparently there is a message on every mailbox pole in our neighborhood.

Holly was treated for heartworms…the two month treatment; and, just as she was healthy enough to be spay, appointment scheduled, she went into heat.

She was spay a couple of weeks ago and licked her sutures out so off to the vet we went again. She is now fine. Her tummy hair is growing back.

She is just adorable. She squeals with delight, like a baby pig, when she is happy. She’s been playing with Blaze, our foster puppy, and has always played with the other dogs. She’s fine with the cats, but she does try to get them to play.

She now comes up to people to get petted; still doesn’t like to be brushed, but has a very thick coat, even now in the summer. AND I can still pick her up because she’s little…..much to Holly’s dismay!

She is ready for adoption. Looking for someone with another young pup; a physically fenced yard as Holly likes to dig a hole (We call them her forts.) and watch the world. She has been so much fun to have around. Help us find the perfect family for her.

Congratulations Betty Davis and the Conrad family.

Betty Davis was adopted today by the Conrad family. Allan, Pam, their two children, Taffy their Cocker Spaniel, and the family cat all welcomed Betty Davis into her new home.

Betty Davis, Pam and Taffy are pictured below.

We miss you Betty Davis and we know you found your “Furever” home and we are so happy that Taffy has a new playmate.

Doug

Adam and I were wondering why our new foster was named “Doug”. I think we figured it out after this weekend when everyone that met him and heard his name said “Oh, like the dog from the movie UP. I do see a strong resemblance :)

Blaze Looking for his Furever Family

Ten pound, ten week old Blaze is ready for adoption. He has been doing great going outside to potty. Of course we give him plenty of opportunities. He retrieves which makes it easy to exercise. He is doing great with the other dogs and cats.

He has a cowlick or blaze of fur down his snout; thus his name.

Meet Douglas AKA “D-dog”

This guy looks like MISCHIEF to me. Adam and Marial picked up Doug, who will be 2 years old in October, this afternoon and he has already been bathed, deflead and dematted AND taken to the dog park to burn off some young boy energy. He appears to like kids and other dogs. Big sister Cara is teaching him some canine mannners.

He needs to be vetted and neutered before he’ll be ready for adoption.
