Happy Tails
Back in December, Pat posted that Happy Tails was looking for stories or anecdotes about dogs that would be published in a book (proceeds benefitting our favorite rescues). I was bored that night, so I went ahead and wrote a paragraph about Crumpet, sent it in, and promptly forgot all about it. Well, I got an email today saying that it will be published. I’m still trying to figure out how proceeds from sales work, but hopefully GRRSM will benefit.
Pat requested to be listed as a partner rescue with the publisher, and once that goes through, rescue members will be able to purchase their books or merchandise with a portion of sales benefitting our rescue.
Author announcements are now posted at http://www.happytailsbooks.com/about/authors/ .

Meet Frankie
We got the call on Sunday that Frankie was going to be euthanized the next day. All the rescues are full. Will you take him. The board voted “yes” and Frankie is with Tonya in TN. She says, “He is a little shy and scared at the moment, but starting to come around. He is extremely sweet and loving. He loves to be petted. He has only been with me a day so it is hard to tell alot about him. He does get along great with the other dogs and he loves the children.”

As you can see from the photo he is very thin. He has a vet appt tomorrow and we’ll know more about his health.
Tonya currently has like….11 dogs at her house. Four of them are golden rescue dogs! Dogs in TN are lucky to have her.

Meet Chance
Chance was tossed from a truck and surrended to rescue. According to his foster mom, Tonya, “He is a nut and very playful. He loves his belly rubbed. He will jump up to kiss you. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs and loves children as well. He is a lot of fun. I will tell more as I learn more.”
Chance has a vet appt on Friday so we will know more about his health. He is scheduled to arrive in MD on July 7.

Betty Davis Update
Here’s an update on Betty Davis, a two year old female who has almost completed her treatment for heartworms. She will be arriving in MD on June 30th and will be staying with Norm and Gail Bleakley until she is spay and adopted.
“Betty is very scared to be alone. She is not good in crates at all. She is not demanding and she will sit by you all day. She loves people. She does get a little upset if dogs act too hyper around her. But she is very sweet and loving and most of all faithful, very much so. She loves older childern and women. She has a beautiful spirit about her. She will be you best friend forever and never leave your side.” according to Tonya who is fostering her in TN.

Meet Jack
Jack is a young golden mix who was literally tossed out of a pick up truck with another golden mix (Chance) near an elderly gentleman’s home. The man called both boys who ran to him apparently unhurt. He put them in his back yard and contacted a person he knew who worked with the shelter to try to find a rescue for them. The rescues are full and Tonya contacted me to see if we would take the boys.
Tonya says, “He is shy at first but once we began to pet him he warms up quickly. He plays well with all the other dogs. He is “serious” most of the time watching the people as we do things around the house. He too as only been here a day so I will update as I learn more to tell.”
Jack has a vet appt tomorrow so we will know more about his health. He is scheduled to arrive in MD on July 7.

How to Hold a Leash
This is a good reminder as I live with Harry, aka Puller – especially when he sees a bunny or squirrel.
