Kyra is estimated to be 5 months old. She came to the shelter as a stray. She is your typical, goofy golden pup. She is healthy and is ready for adoption. She will be fostered by our newest foster mom in Maryland, Amy and her husband and 10 month old lab, Brew.

From foster mom, Lisa Arnold, who has Kyra and Clare until the end of the month when they will be transported to Maryland.

“We are home and everyone is settling in. Kyra is definitely a typical puppy – so very cute. Lots of energy, but doesn’t know how to fetch yet. We’ll teach her. She looks almost all golden to me. She will have no problem finding a home. Clare is very, very sweet. A little bit timid – and afraid of Reid! Her skin is pretty bad, but we have the medicine and that should improve. She has beautiful eyes. She already knows me and seems to know her new name. I think the lady who is looking for a senior golden would love her.

All 4 goldens (and 1 cocker spaniel) are getting along pretty well. I will have to get a picture of all 4. I have a picture of each girl, but will take more and send them to you soon. We should be able to get some good ones, both are having no troubles posing

Oh, and Kyra is definitely not house trained, I’m thinking she’s probably never been in a real house before.”

I often wonder how older, quiet girls, like Clare end up as a “stray” at an animal shelter, but that is the case for Ms Clare. Might be the best thing that ever happened to her. She was unspay, had ear and yeast and bacterial skin infections. She is now spay and her skin and ears are being treated.

She’s pretty quiet right now as it’s her first day at her foster family Lisa and Chris Arnold. They’ll send us updates as they get to know Clare.
