Hello All:

I wanted to share the following link to a video produced by the local ABC affiliate station in Tulsa, OK about one of our special needs Goldens. This is a pretty cool story and the video is well edited and it’s popping up all over the web. The national ABC folks picked it up and promptly butchered the story including their closing line that the golden rescue did not respond to requests for comment – the reporter called our hotline and left a voicemail then filed the story an hour later before we had even picked up her message. Sigh.

Anyway, Tanner and his friend Blair are available for adoption through SGRR and we are hoping all the interest generated by this piece will lead to the perfect home for these two. Enjoy.

Say “hello” to Charlie who just arrived from South Carolina thanx to Gail Bleakley for transporting him to us. Charlie is 5 months old and was neutered on Wednesday. He has a little cough and doesn’t seem to be feeling 100%. He’s a tiny, little guy who is a real love bug.

“Betty Davis is very calm and extremely sweet. She loves to follow where ever you go. Using the bathroom outside is quite enough of out doors for her. But of it is hot here in the south. She loves to be petted. She loves to sit on the couch. She is well mannered. She comes when you call for her. Betty Davis is one in a million.”

Betty was covered in fleas, ticks and feces when Tonya rescued her yesterday. She has been to the vet where we learned she has heartworms. If none of our local families will foster her, Tonya will and then we will transport her when she completes her heartworm treatment. Vet says she is young in spite of her teeth being worn down which the vet believes is from chewing on a pen or chain.

Tonya is taking her to be groomed on Monday as she is full of matts.

Perfect dog to be named after our own “Betty Davis” as she is exactly the kind of dog Betty would take in….one that is currently a mess, but has great potential.
