Jasmine – June 2011
Jasmine came to rescue from Tri-county Animal Shelter on March 21, 2011 where she had been taken by animal control as a stray. She endured knee surgery on both knees, a trip to the canine cardiologist, a sonogram and multiple other tests only to learn she had liver cancer.
Jazzie was a spunky little girl weighing in at only 53 pounds. When she was feeling well she LOVED the water. We chuckle as the first time she went to the beach she was like a little kid that turns blue and their teeth chatter they are so cold, but refuse to get out of the water.
Jazz also LOVED to chase the tennis ball….well the tennis ball that her sister Anna was playing with. One of her favorite games combined her love of water with her love of tennis balls. We’d toss 20 or so tennis balls into the wading pool and Jazz would systematically remove each of them – an easy game for her on the days her legs were achy.
Jazz woke this morning unable to stand or eat. Our spunky little girl was tired of fighting her uncooperative body. I called the vet, then Joe. We made it official and adopted Jazzie before going to the vet.
