Annie Will Soon Be Looking for Her Furever Family

Life has not been good to Annie.

She was wandering a nice neighborhood for several days before someone finally called animal control. It appears she had chewed through a tether as part was still attached to her collar.

Of course no microchip or ID tag.

Poor girl was so covered in matts the finders weren’t sure if she was a girl or a boy. She had to be shaved and her fur is now growing back nicely.

She had a HUGE growth on her front arm.

She then sat at animal control for a couple of weeks without any vet care.

Finally we were able to get her. Becky picked Annie up within an hour of being told we could have her. Becky has been caring for her since.

Annie is heart worm positive, but worse, the tumor was cancer and the vet could not get all of it.

The vet says the tumor will come back and likely be the cause of her death, but she could live a year or more. We are doing the slow kill method of managing her heart worms.

But through all of this Annie is a spunky, playful girl. Her foster mom says, “Anyone who adopts her will be so lucky as she has tons of love to give and just wants to have love returned.”

She loves toys, engages the other goldens in the family in play including the golden puppy, has excellent house manners. She enjoyed the dog park with the other goldens last week.

It takes a special person or family to give their heart to senior girl. If that person is you or someone you know, please contact us. 855.477.3728.
