Cody Crossed Rainbow Bridge

cody
~~ from Michelle

Cody crossed yesterday morning. It was not due to the cancer, but his mobility/rear leg issues. Two weeks ago this very day you would not have thought a thing wrong. He was out and about with us thru the day, fully mobile and happy. Then last weekend we noted a change. Still wanted to go out, but went down more frequently and chose to stay down as we did our yard work and then he needed help getting up.

We hoped it would be a brief set back (like last June/July before we started the Adequan), but no. By Wednesday, he could still get up but had no desire to walk, and if we took him out he would go down within 10 feet. He needed help to “go”. We made the call to Dr. Matteson on Thursday to set his passing for Saturday morning. By Friday he could no longer get up, and we would quietly change his bedding thru the day.

I am swallowing hard and there is just a quiet, huge hole.

Thank you for the advice last summer. I am VERY grateful for the extra months we got to have with our incredible Cody bear.

NOTE: Cody was one of the Terrific Ten Pups rescued along with 76 other goldens from a horrible situation in Isle of Wight VA a few years ago. He had a great life with Michelle and her husband. Another pup, Rip, from the same situation, is still with them.

Sorry for you loss. Foster, one of his Terrific Ten siblings send his love. We may be helping our Honey to cross the Bridge early this week. So Cody may have another pay to play with.
