Thankful For Our Volunteers: Michelle and Greg Beckman

We’ve been recognizing golden lovers who provide a temporary home for goldens in need. Today we are sharing our appreciation for a couple who has a special place in their heart for senior golden retirever – Michelle and Greg Beckman.

From Foster Coordinator, Ginny Hinders, “I don’t know how many people realize that Michelle and Greg furever fostered senior Charlie from PG County. Charlie needed love, patience and someone to go slow with him. With their love Charlie really blossomed – he learned how to stop and smell the flowers – loved staring at the puppy in the window and likely lived inside for the first time in his life.

They also adopted Sydney in 2017 and fostered Lucky when he was surrendered back to rescue with short notice. They helped nurse Lucky back to health and quickly became foster failures. They also short term fostered Senior Max before he went to his furever foster.”

Fostering seniors might be an option for you too if you like to stroll rather than jog on walks, appreciate the value of an afternoon nap, and love looking into the eyes of a sugar faced senior golden.
