Thankful For Our Volunteers: Susan Casarez

Appreciating rescue volunteers during November. Susan has fostered for the rescues for a long time. Her very first foster girl was named “Angel”, but Angel wasn’t exactly an angel when out on walks and she encountered other dogs. Susan renamed her “Sami” and adopted her.

Here’s a current photo of Sami.

But lucky for us, Susan kept fostering. She is one of the most consciousness foster moms we have. Her pups are thoroughly prepared to be adopted. She ensures all vetting is current, her pups are microchipped, they have a supply of any medications they are on as well as food, heartworm and flea prevention when they go to their new family. She makes sure they are bathed or groomed and have their nails trimmed.

This year Susan has fostered Sookie, Flower and Buttercup. She currently is fostering Oliver. Sookie was quite a timid girl and Susan really helped her blossom and nursed her back to health so she was ready for her forever family.  Buttercup needed extra TLC after being surrendered to TriCounty Animal Shelter. Susan picked her up from the shelter within an hour of my call to her. The Casarez family helped treat her fleas and find her the best forever family.

Susan is also crafty and provides goodies to sell at craft shows and staffs the shows.

Susan is a professional dog walker and her mom dog sits for Sami and her foster pup when she is working.

Please thank Susan for taking such great care of goldens and helping them transition to their new family.
