Doc 2007 – 2015 Crosses the Rainbow Bridge

Doc loved people, playing fetch & catch, riding shotgun in the truck with the window down, lining up his tennis balls and large stuffed animals for quick retrieval, and of course eating. If you were close enough to him he always took the opportunity to give you a big ole wet kiss. Millie honored him yesterday. When we returned from MASH we found she had placed tennis balls in the hallway and a stuff toy and watch guard last night as Doc always did. He was a total joy to be with. He had that laid back happy go lucky spirit and we will miss him greatly.rio

Al and Jean (and Millie), this is such heartbreaking news. I am so sorry you have lost your precious boy, and at a young age. Although unrelated, I will always admire how hard you fought, and overcame, Doc’s cancer and I will use his experience as inspiration if I ever need to.

Millie’s intuition and behavior is remarkable.

I hope the good memories can help your hearts heal easier. You will be in my thoughts.

Doc sounds like the very definition of the perfect Golden! I’m so deeply sorry for you and for Millie. He was truly loved! It sounds like he had a wonderful life filled with love, adventure and joy. I can only imagine how missed he will be, but I’m so grateful he knew he was loved and adored. Keeping Millie and you in our thoughts and prayers.

You are right, Doc was always such a happy fellow with a smile in his eyes and a let’s play, I love you attitude. I know you are all devastated by this. No one could have done more to provide a wonderful life for him. He was my favorite, big goofy golden male. I am so sad that he is no longer with you. Thinking of all of you. What a wonderful tribute from Millie.

Well, as Joe J said, all our babies are meeting their new friends every night across that bridge. I am sure Doc grabbed some tennis balls and ran right up to Trigger, Dustin, Luke, Alex, Tara and many of your babies saying, “Hey guys, you ready???” What a handsome (way to young)boy – looks like our Pilot. I have been hugging Pilot so much he has asked me to lay off! My heart goes out to you about Doc. I know how you are feeling. Sarah

Was hoping for the best but alas, he passed on. He was your pal, Al, who captured your heart. You went beyond to give him a good life. He loved you both so much. He will be missed.

Please rest assured that Doc had such a wonderful life with you-he couldn’t ask for a better family to be with. “He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.”
